If they had moved up in fooball in the early 90s, would the ACC...
...have chosen them over BC? I tend to think UCONN would have gotten the nod due to three factors: (1) their proximity to NYC, (2) their superior BB program...we are talking about the ACC...lol, and (3) it is not a small private school, but the "flagship" state university of Connecticut.
It's pretty clear college football isn't a priority in the NE, so only one of those two would receive an invitation. BC won that battle, and the rest is history.
Unless the B1X wants another drain on their resources, I don't see UCONN ever getting a P5 invitation. I think the B1X is done with the NE after Rutsgers, and will only extend a future invitation to schools like Texas or Oklahoma.
